Image one: There are a couple reasons that the Middle Ages only began in western Europe. One of the reasons is that the eastern part of the Roman empire was already falling so they could invade using there roads. Another reason is that the Byzantine empire was stronger so they didn't fall while getting invaded. That is why the Middle Ages began in Western Europe.

Three interesting facts are that he killed thousands of Saxons that wouldn't convert to Christianity.Charlemagne was born on April 2, 742 CE and his name in Latin is Carolus Magnus, Charles the Great in English and Carlo Magno is Spanish. He was also emporer of the Romans for 14 years.
